Over the years, many people have told me that building a home is one of the most stressful events in a lifetime. There are literally thousands of decisions to be made and constant changes and revisions to your plans. We chose Jeff Walters and Cornerstone Construction to build our home after interviewing several other builders. We were not disappointed.Eleen Kirman, MD,Jeff is a true craftsman and a perfectionist. He not only uses terrific sub-contractors with whom he has had relationships for years, but he likes to get his hands dirty and do some of the work himself. He truly loves woodworking and personally designed and built our mantle and railings for our staircase.
Jeff was always accessible. He was more than willing to stay late and show us the progress in the evening when we stopped by after work. He was a great communicator and respected our busy working schedules as well. He knew when to call us with critical decisions but he was just as facile with email and text messaging, allowing us to minimize the impact on our working hours.
The home that we moved into was everything we had dreamed of and more. While it is an extremely time-consuming endeavor with many potential opportunities for cost over-runs, we found Jeff to be honest and straightforward as well as willing to make suggestions regarding cost-savings that wouldn’t compromise the quality of our home.
I would strongly recommend him to anyone thinking of new construction or a remodel. He was a delight to work with.
